System Support

System Support services are for those systems that have been developed in-house and are currently being used to support UDOT's business.  Our services include: customer support (by phone or email), system administration (setting up users and their roles), training, managing maintenance issues, managing system enhancements and managing data integration with other business systems.

The Electronic Program Management System (ePM) is UDOT’s Pre Construction project planning system.  As UDOT has evolved, ePM has evolved supporting a number of business processes that support UDOT’s Goals and Strategies.  Today, ePM features the following functionality: Long Range Planning, Setup New Proposed Projects, Concept Development,
STIP (five-year funding plan), Program Funds Planning and Tracking, Project Scheduling,
Payroll (time entry related to projects) and Consultant Management System (CMS).

Numerous applications are dependent on ePM’s data.  ePM interfaces with the Construction Applications (MasterWorks / PDBS), Right of Way, GIS, FINET (State Financial System), FHWA’s Financial Management Information System (FMIS), State Payroll System, ProjectWise, UDOT’s Data Warehouse, COGNOS and Socrata.

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) & Department of Technology Services (DTS) developed Interchange, a web-based application that is an umbrella to several other applications, such as:  Team and Project sites, Project Management Office, UDOT Streamlined Technical Access Review Tool (U-START), Conflict Management, Extra Mile, Excess Land Management, Utility Agreement Tracker, Cash Flow, Consultant Evaluation and GASB forms on the SharePoint platform. This web-based utility allows users to share documents, record meetings, track and update tasks, sign documents, submit forms, etc. without being inside the UTAH firewall.
